Need help finding the best iPhone 17 Pro cases

I just got an iPhone 17 Pro and realized my old case doesn’t fit at all. I’m trying to find a protective case that still feels slim, works with MagSafe, and won’t block the buttons or camera. There are so many options online that I’m not sure what’s actually worth buying, so I could really use recommendations for the best iPhone 17 Pro cases.

For slim + protective + MagSafe, I’d narrow it fast.

Best bets:

  1. Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit. Slim, solid button clicks, decent camera lip. Good value.
  2. Caudabe Sheath. Grippy, thin, stronger feel than most slim cases. MagSafe magnets are strong.
  3. Apple Silicone or FineWoven replacement if fit matters most. Buttons and camera cutouts are usualy perfect, protection is mid.
  4. Mous Limitless. More bulk, better drop protection, strong magnets.
  5. OtterBox Symmetry MagSafe. Safer pick if you drop your phone a lot, still not too huge.

What I’d avoid:

  • Super cheap Amazon cases with weak magnets
  • Cases with giant camera rings, they wobble on desks
  • Clear cases if yellowing bugs you

My pick is Caudabe if you want slim. Mous if you want more protection. Spigen if you want the best price-to-performance. Check reviews for the exact 17 Pro fit first, some listing are messy rn.

I’d add a couple options that sit in the middle, because @caminantenocturno covered the obvious picks already.

If you want slim but not slippery, look at Nomad Sport Case. It’s thinner than it looks in pics, MagSafe is strong, and the button covers are usually better than a lot of “budget slim” cases. I also think the grip is nicer than Apple’s silicone, which honestly can get kinda linty and weird after a while.

Another one worth checking is the Smartish Gripmunk with MagSafe. Not the prettiest case on earth, but the sides are really easy to hold and the cutouts tend to be clean. It’s one of those cases that just makes daily use less annoying.

If camera protection matters, I’d actually be careful with super-thin cases. Some look sleek until the phone hits a table corner once and then… yeah. A slightly raised lip around the camera is worth it. Also check if the action/camera control area feels awkward, because some early 17 Pro case designs are a little janky rn.

My short version:

  • Best everyday slim: Caudabe or Nomad
  • Best grip: Smartish
  • Best cleaner fit/finish: Apple
  • Best if you’re rough on phones: Mous or OtterBox

I’d skip the ultra-cheap no-name stuff unless you like weak magnets and mushy buttons lol.
